 |
Koson designed more than five hundred woodblock prints of flowers and (or) birds during the early 1900s. Two features shared by many of these prints were first, true-to-life coloring and shaping of the objects depicted and second, the use of a dark background (i.e., gray or black) to make the more brightly-colored foreground objects stand out.
